Baldwin
New York
can be proud of
Borgo
Pass.
In 2000 they released "PBS", in 2002 "SD"; both very good
releases in the stoner genre, without reverting to the obvious pastiche and
clichés. With the stoner genre over its peak, we wonder what the NY band has
been up to. The answer is very clear. "Nervosa" follows the path of
bands like Clutch and COC, makes us slightly forget Monster Magnet and is
related to the stoner influences Machine Head and Gorefest used occasionally. Or
even better,
Borgo
Pass
has made the follow up for Amselmo's side project Down! Better, heavier and
even with some hit potential in songs like "Dead Summer"! Solid rock
stuff.
